CBD Oil and Coffee !!

CBD OIL & COFFEE

By Amanda O.

While CBD Oil will not promise you instant euphoria or give you immediate laser sharp focus, it will give you realistic benefits that can enhance your overall wellness and wellbeing.

Why should you put CBD Oil in your morning cup of coffee? To put it briefly, CBD can balance out the negative side effects of caffeine and boosts its effectiveness throughout your body. To better understand these benefits first we need to look at how CBD and caffeine interact with our bodies separately.

in your morning cup of coffee? To put it briefly, CBD can balance out the negative side effects of caffeine and boosts its effectiveness throughout your body. To better understand these benefits first we need to look at how CBD and caffeine interact with our bodies separately.

You may know a lot or just a little about CBD, either way we are here to help educate our community the best we can. To fill you in on the basics of CBD, it stands for Cannabidiol which is, one of over a hundred natural compounds found in the hemp plant. One familiar cousin to CBD is THC, (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is responsible for the “high” associated with the green plant. However, CBD carries no intoxicating effects making it perfect to combine with your morning cup!

Although CBD doesn’t give you the ‘high’ THC does, it does work with your mind and body, with our endocannabinoid system. CBD is a cannabinoid, a phytocannabinoid to be exact. We have cannabinoids present in our body called endocannabinoids, they work throughout our endocannabinoid system. Simply put, this system is constantly working to keep our bodies balanced. When our bodies are out of balance is when we experience discomfort, whether it be through pain, anxiety, mood swings, inflammation, and so forth.

Instead of thinking of CBD as making you feel a certain way, try to think of it as decreasing a negative feeling you have in your mind or body. If you feel anxious it may lower your anxiety, if you feel pain, it may lower your pain, and if you feel depressed it may decrease your feeling of depression.

What about coffee? We know we drink it to wake up and/or to feel more alert, but what coffee is doing, specifically the caffeine , is tricking our body to replace the drowsiness chemical Adenosine ( which makes us feel tired and sleepy) with caffeine. When caffeine enters our body it actually looks like this chemical Adenosine. So, our bodies switch from the depressing chemical and start using caffeine which, we know is a stimulant. This results in faster nerve cells which causes your body to produce more of the hormones adrenaline and dopamine. This is the reason why caffeine makes you feel good and alert.

However, that good feeling might not be so good for everyone. In some cases, caffeine can cause a feeling of anxiety and stress, due to the increased bodily function we experience. Whether this applies to you or not, CBD Oil may be able to curb the negative side effects that come with coffee consumption while still allowing you to reap the positive benefits coffee has to offer. Such as: improving circulation, help you burn more calories, improve memory, make you more energetic, just to name a few.

So, CBD Oil and coffee together create a balance. While coffee can heighten our experience, it can also make us feel jittery and unfocused. Adding CBD Oil to your coffee may give the ability to decrease your anxiety and increase focus, all while adding the other benefits of CBD such as reducing inflammation and pain management. CBD & coffee both have antioxidant properties that help rid the body of toxins. And while coffee increases brain function, CBD acts as a neuroprotectant, protecting your neurons from degeneration in your brain.

You probably won’t be in a state of complete bliss when drinking CBD coffee, but you potentially feel sharp and focused rather than jittery and anxious.

The only way to know if you’ll enjoy this combination is to try it! You don’t need to go to some fancy café to do so. Consider buying CBD Oil and mixing into your favorite morning cup yourself.

CBD Oil vs. CBD Gummies

When people walk into the Catalyst CBD retail store for the first time many are interested in understanding what product is most effective, a CBD oil (commonly referred to as a CBD tincture) or a CBD gummy. The reality is, both are effective in providing relief for the issues that CBD helps to resolve, in my case reduced inflammation specifically. My recommendation is generally, whatever product you are going to use with confidence and consistency is the best one for you.

A CBD tincture is going to have an almost immediate uptake within the body. The data suggests that a CBD tincture has an onset time of 15 minutes or less. A primary concern with CBD tinctures for some people is a CBD tincture can be a little intimidating, due to measuring or counting drops. If consumers are properly educated about how much to use given the strength they choose, the intimidation factor can be easily erased. At the Catalyst CBD we always take the time to educate and show the proper use of CBD tinctures to get the correct amount of CBD desired given the potency of the CBD tincture purchased. We use a guide based upon the weight of the individual to determine the initial dosing a person should take. Breaking down the dose and understanding how much they need helps consumers and allows them to judge the effectiveness of the suggested dose. All our GUD Life CBD tinctures have measurement lines on the dropper used to measure the proper dose. Once the consumer understands their proper dosing the intimidation of measuring CBD tinctures is eliminated. Tinctures require a bit more thought while taking your CBD. There is no determined level of CBD that could be harmful but taking more than is necessary is wasteful and more expensive to use.

CBD gummies take out all the guess work out. Take one of our GUD Life CBD Gummies and you have 15 mg, which based upon your body weight may be enough. Take two and you know you have 30 mg of CBD. The primary difference besides the easy dose calculation is the time it takes a CBD gummy, or any CBD edible takes to be metabolized. Generally, a CBD gummy will take up to two hours to begin to create the desired anti-inflammatory affect that makes CBD so useful to our bodies. Our CBD gummies use nano-emulsification to reduce the time it takes the CBD to begin metabolizing. Although our nano-emulsified gummies absorb faster than other options on the market, they still don’t absorb as quickly as a CBD tincture.

The difference is a CBD tincture acts more rapidly and more precise doses can be measured at home. With a CBD gummy your dose is either one gummy at X mg of CBD or twice that if you take two gummies. I agree that a person can cut up the gummies into smaller pieces to approximate different levels of dosing, although depending on where you use your CBD might be an inconvenience. The SIMPLE THOUGHT use the CBD product that you are most comfortable with. Both are effective.

CBD for Pets

I think most pet owners would agree with me when I say our pets are like our family. We care for them the way we would for a child, we physically care for them, and we emotionally care too. That’s why its hurts us when we see our pets in pain or discomfort.
CBD has been known to help humans with many different ailments, pain, inflammation, and anxiety. It does this through our endocannabinoid system which plays a major role in pain and inflammation modulation. The thing is all animals have this endocannabinoid system! Which means the same relief us humans get from CBD our pets can too! And it’s not just dogs and cats; horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, and any other pet you may adopt into your family can find relief with CBD. A clinical study done by Frontiers in Veterinary Science showed that with the use of CBD oil, 80% of the dogs studied showed a significant decrease in pain and an increase in mobility.
Not only could CBD helped with your pet’s pain and limited mobility, it could also help with any anxiety or stress your pet may be experiencing. Many dogs (and cats!) will suffer from anxiety from fear (like fireworks), separation anxiety, and age- related anxiety. Not only does this have a negative effect on your dog’s well -being, it could influence yours too. Many dogs who are unable to find comfort when left alone will urinate and defecate in the home, they may destroy your furniture, and annoy your neighbors by barking the whole time you’re gone. Also, as your dog ages and their cognitive function and awareness start to decline, this can lead to confusion and anxiety in your older dog. Anxiety can also lead to dogs being aggressive, making it hard to have them around guests or children. The same goes for an anxious cat.
If you’re thinking you want to try CBD for one of your pets but you’re not sure where to start, well, it’s simple! If you know the basics you can be on your to helping your furry family member! There is a good amount of pet products out there like treats and tinctures, rubs, and salves. The most important thing is to pay attention to the amount of CBD in the product. Once you know that you’ll decide how much of the product to give you pet based on their weight. The recommended dosage is 1-5mg of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight. Some animals may respond well to a smaller dosage and some may need more. The best way to figure it out is to experiment, start with a lower dose and if you see no results within the first 30-60 min increase the dosage. And just like us humans, on some occasions it may take more than one treatment to see improvement.
At this point you may be wondering what product you should use on your pet, and the answer is: whatever works best for you and your pet! If the product contains the dosage your pet needs the difference in the products is just whatever is most convenient for you and your pet! You can give your pet a treat or two or add a CBD tincture directly to their food or even put it directly in their mouth. The most important thing is your pet is getting their recommended dosage to find the relief you both are wanting!
